Why do folks insist on calling bearing cups races? A race is the ring that's pressed on or held on to the axle with a set screw to hold a bearing to an axle. These are BEARING CUPS!

Why would you drop the fuel tank and check the fuel strainers?Just back, feed it with a 150 ps.I.Air if it's plugged up it'll drop down to the bottom of the tank and forget about it

~~Tightening is a correct step. Before you do anything though, after you let the penetrater soak. Take a metal rod/shaft, preferably the size of the bolt head, w/good size hammer&give each one a couple good healthy wacks. Not only will you find you may not the torch? But possibly break loose after tightening it the first time? ~~I worked at Hydraulic shop 15 year,that did the trick w/ 5/8" bolts&up. Not once did we ever have to use the torch unless the gland&or piston was seized.

I found a receipt in the past on garagejournal with atf and methylated spirit. Thank you for remembering me. I personally mix mine with dampening oil of old struts and methylated spirit.

12:00, The WIX filter has better paper, true... BUT there is also LESS FILTER PAPER MATERIAL IN THE FLAM. One Other FILTER Comparison cut the paper Out and MEASURED THE LENGTH OF IT. 19:00, OH it is you great to see the differences.

I bought an 02 Excursion 6.8 V10 back in 2018. Hands down best vehicle I’ve ever owned. 213,000 on the clock and have done brakes, battery, steering gear box, plugs and some preventative maintenance. It’s tough on gas when towing but it’s a work horse and a daily driver. If anyone has experienced this I’d appreciate some thoughts. I’ve been getting a fast ticking noise coming from where I believe is the front of the engine. I’ve done lots of research and there are so many different opinions from…..it’s normal don’t worry about it to injectors, spark plugs or possible timing components ! Any thoughts ?

After it starts crack the top cap and let the level go down, then tighten it back up so owner doesn't accuse one of not changing the filter. It's clearly shown in the instructions.

So i have the cat 3024c and i cant seem to get it to idle up. It was at high idle then it just went to low 1500 rpms. Anyone have a solution.

I change oil about 5000miles and filter. But have to add a small amount during changes. Milage is not too good on the rv use. Had missfire and changed two coils on cylinder 1 and 9 with Blue Streak. Now it runs so smooth again. A wonderful engine. Only noisy on ''towing'' downhill and uphill between 4000-5000 rpm.

Great video Thanks a million for the info.., I’m trying to determine if the 7.3 Is hydro locked as it seems to be locked up big time. So I’m going to pull the GP to see if the there is oil on top of the pistons. Also might re-place the o’rings in the injectors

Looking for info on how to set the load and idle needles on the carb (DLTX 67). I believe you turn in the valve all the way and then turn it out a turn and a half, not certain.

4:33 understandable, however why not just orient the block to where the manifold is on top of it, so that when you loosen the bolts, there's no weight from the manifold pulling down on them?... Easier said than done if you haven't got fancy equipment, but most garages who do restorations like that on old junkers have something that could perform such a function.

I’ve been filling my toolbox with all the cheap imports…why pay double at Harbor Freight or 200X through snap on? I buy every type of puller, spark plug insert boring kit, vacuum gauge, AC manifold, vacuum pump and anything else that I can use to make my life easier. Say what you want about cheap imports but I’ll take them versus not having the tools I need.

Hello. I bought a Motor Home with an 8.9 Cummins with only 5000 miles on it. Does not want to fire up. I changed filters but nothing. We made sure we were getting fuel to lines but got to pressure valve and no fuel after pressure valve. What do you think it could be. I’m going to run codes and see what it says.

You’re actually setting the gap on those. Yours should be .276”. I have the same unit. Specs and instructions are available in the operators manual. Free on the JD website.

All new battery chargers are "smart chargers". BUT all chargers are made in China or Korea. My neighbor has a John Deere battery charger and it still works after 30 years

I just came across your channel and this video. It was very good and based on my experience, very accurate. I have a 7.3 Excursion with almost 300k. I have owned it for almost twenty years. Fuel economy has varied of course between 14.5 and 18.5 depending, depending, etc. Our experience has been great. Yes, we have spent money on repairs, changed the hubs to manual, new steering box, oil pan, etc, etc. I mention this only as a testimony that you can share with your customers trying to decide about repairing an old 7.3 vehicle vs. buying a new rig. Put the money into the 7.3! $75k and up for a new crew cab is ridiculous. Again, great and very accurate video.

Hey Stephen I'm stuck with one of these c2.2 engines and she is stubborn to start during colder weather, after 10 - 15 min of messing with it, it will start throw a bit off black smoke and go. After that for the rest of the day it starts perfectly, I replaced the glow plugs no difference. I need advise please??????
